PADI Open Water Program...
The PADI Open Water Diver program is the most popular course offered at Ocean Quest. This course is your ticket to the exciting adventure of the underwater world. The course covers simple academic principles, and emphasizes actual diving experiences starting off in the pool, and then progressing to the ocean.
For your course, you are provided with all basic scuba equipment, your own PADI Open Water Manual, PADI Open Water DVD and dive tables which are yours to keep as a reference after the program. Due to the importance of fit and comfort, it is strongly recommend that students supply their own personal equipment (mask, snorkel and fins). These items may rented or purchased at a special Ocean Quest student rate.
British Columbia offers some of the most spectacular diving in the world. After you finish your course, we will give you many opportunities to experience British Columbia’s underwater world!

To make learning to dive easier, and to avoid the late nights of a traditional format, we have created a progressive, friendly format to accommodate your scheduling needs.
The weekend format offers high quality instruction over a condensed, two weekend schedule. The first weekend consists of a quick orientation session on Wednesday evening, with the first weekend consisting of two full days of pool dives and academic review sessions. On the second weekend, you will complete your 4 ocean dives and earn the PADI Open Water Diver Certification!
Due to its modular format, you may complete your program over two consecutive weekends, or you can create your own schedule over a variety of weekends. The choice is yours!!

Personalized Scuba!
The personalized scuba program arms you with the latest educational technologies and allows you to dive on your time. When utilizing the personal scuba format, you customize the program to your schedule. All you need to do is attend 3 hours or pool diving, academic review sessions and then complete 2 days of diving.
Tuition: $599.00 + GST for one person $499.00 + GST for two people

PADI eLearning is Here!!
Now you can complete all of your Knowledge Development training at your convenience!! When you register through eLearning, you will complete all of the required Knowledge Development training on your own time and when you are ready, Ocean Quest will take you diving!!
How does it work?
By following the link below, you will register with PADI (and Ocean Quest) and start your diver training. Throughout this process, you can contact our staff by phone, email or in person for assistance. When you complete your online training, you can make an appointment anytime during Ocean Quest business hours
and we will answer questions, have you complete a short quiz to assess your learning and get you ready for your first pool dives!!
How much does it cost?
The fees for eLearning are broken in to two sections - Payment to PADI and Payment to Ocean Quest.
Your payment to PADI will be $120.00 USD and will be required at the time of registration. This payment includes access to on-line training tools for 1 year.
Ocean Quest will reduce the tuition of whichever format you choose to take by $25.00, for example, the 2 Weekend format would be $375.00 + GST. Tuition to Ocean Quest will include any Academic Reveiw required, all in water training, PADI eLearning Enhancement Crewpak (Dive Tables and Logbook) and Certification Fees.

There are many things that make training facilities different from one another. At Ocean Quest we are committed to offering the best course available. Things you will find different at Ocean Quest are:
Lowest student to instructor ratios in the Lower Mainland!
When teaching people to dive, Ocean Quest utilizes the smallest student to instructor ratios in Greater Vancouver. Our ratios are typically 3 to 4 people per instructor when diving in the pool or ocean!!
Many stores use ratios of 6 or even 8 students per instructor and often have a different instructor throughout your program.
Quality Instruction/Experienced Instructors
Ocean Quest is the only dive training facility in the Greater Vancouver owned and operated by a PADI Course Director (Instructor Trainer).
PADI Course Director's are chosen by PADI to represent the highest instructor rating available in the PADI System. Due to their role in the diving industry, Course Directors are held to a higher accountability by PADI and the diving industry. This means you can expect nothing but the best from Ocean Quest.
Most of our lead instructors hold ratings beyond basic instructor and have been actively training divers from 2 to 14 years!!
Consistent Instructor Staff
You will have the same instructors involved throughout your whole course. This ensures that student’s skill levels are tracked throughout the program by the same instructional staff and allows instructors to recognize and focus on student’s strengths and weaknesses.
Many stores use a “Modular Format" to teach their programs which means you will have different instructors throughout your program.
Quality Diving Equipment
Good equipment is essential to be comfortable as a diver. This is why Ocean Quest stocks its rental department with quality dive gear including Weight Integrated BCD’s and quality Whites Drysuits.
We haul the gear
We will transport the equipment back and forth to the pool and ocean dives saving you time and effort!!
Many stores make you responsible for transporting all of the equipment to and from the dive store before and after all pool and ocean dives.
